TOKYO--By 2030, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry projects a deficit of 789,000 software engineers. This issue is systemic, ranging from lack of industry-aligned universities to ill-equipped companies. To meet these demands, Code Chrysalis, a leader in developing talent for individuals and enterprise in software engineering, is introducing another solution to the problem: a 25 weeks, part-time version of its proven Immersive Bootcamp to help more people make the leap in their careers and engineering capabilities.
With the first cohort starting on April 5, 2021 and ending September 24, 2021, the Immersive Part-time will be completely remote and have a more inclusive and flexible schedule to allow individuals to participate after daytime and weekday commitments. This first cohort will be conducted in English, but future cohorts will also include Japanese.
Applications to join will start on December 14, 2020.
Immersive Part-Time students will be required to watch lectures as homework, while class time will be devoted to sprint reviews, time with instructors, projects, and hacking time. The courses share the same curriculum and projects, however there will no API Week in the Immersive Part-Time. Additionally, the public-facing tech talk and Career Support Week required in our full-time course are not mandatory in our part-time program. The part-time program will run for 25 weeks with class time every Tuesdays through Thursdays from 19:00 to 22:00 JST and Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:00 JST. There is an extra, optional week of job search preparation for students seeking employment after the program.
