TOKYO -- Code Chrysalis Japan K.K. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Kani Munidasa), a programming school, will begin offering a Japanese language version of their Immersive Part-Time (IPT) programming course. IPT in Japanese will start June 28, 2021.
IPT is a 25-week, remote bootcamp that uses Silicon Valley-style methods to train software engineers capable of full-stack development. The course originally started in English and offers a nearly identical curriculum to Code Chrysalis's full-time Immersive Bootcamp, which has placed over a hundred students as software engineers in tech companies in Tokyo and around the world.
Many potential applicants have financial, familial, and other personal obligations and requirements they face that preclude them from attending a full-time course. Yan Fan, Code Chrysalis co-founder and CTO, said, "We want to make a great education available to all and this is a step towards achieving our goal."
Japanese IPT will allow Japanese speakers work towards gaining software engineering skills or changing their careers to become full-stack software engineers while accommodating students' daytime commitments and obligations, such as work and family. IPT is also tailored specifically to help familiarize students with remote software development, self-discipline and time management due to the demanding schedule, and effective communication on an engineering team.
This pandemic has also heightened the urgency of digitalization. Japan is facing a "digital cliff" in 2025 and the gap of software engineers cannot only be filled by new university graduates and overseas hiring. Programs like the ones that Code Chrysalis provide enable experienced professionals to change their careers, become software engineers, and apply their skills immediately on an engineering team.
All graduates of the Immersive programs (including the Immersive Bootcamp and Immersive Part-Time) are able to undergo our thorough job hunt training and receive lifetime career support. Even after graduation, we remain in touch with weekly meetings to ensure that our graduates are making progress. For our IPT students, there is an optional job search preparation week after the 25-week main program.
Course Period: Monday, June 28, 2021, to Friday, December 17, 2021
Class hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Code Chrysalis produces the next generation of software engineering leaders. Our alumni work as software engineers at a variety of companies in Tokyo and around the world.
Code Chrysalis is a proud member of the Council on Integrity in Results Reporting (CIRR), a Silicon Valley-based federation of top programming schools. Twice a year, we publish statistical reports on our Immersive graduates---our employment rate, average annual salaries, and so forth. This data is further audited by an independent third-party company. We are honored to be the first CIRR member in Japan and only the second in Asia.
